Jazz and Signal Processing

Musicians make different sounds for different styles of music, such as jazz versus symphonic music. Using signal processing and classification techniques, we aided saxophonist Dr. Vanessa Hasbrook in investigating hypotheses about how sounds typical of jazz are produced on the saxophone.
